To hyphenate, or not to hyphenate, that is the question! It’s always hard for younger students to figure out which words get a space, which ones get a hyphen, and which ones just get glued together. Kagan activities where they trade words sounds like a good idea, perhaps a card swap activity where they have to match up the other half of their word with the one another student is holding.
