Verbs sure do get all the glory. Without them, we’d be sitting around doing nothing. Well, maybe not sitting or doing anything, since even those take verbs. Anyway, try to have your students think of a situation where someone isn’t ‘doing’ a verb. Watch as they struggle to do nothing, but are still sitting, standing, laying, breathing, or looking around. It’ll puzzle them forever.
